reiki

Reiki is a form of Japanese energy healing for stress reduction and relaxation. Often in a constant state of doing, we spend so little time just being present in our bodies.

Reiki brings balance and healing by aligning your chakras and removing energetic blocks, to calm your nervous system and promote a sense of peace.

Reiki is made up of two Japanese words: “Rei”, meaning universal and “Ki”, meaning life energy.  A Reiki practitioner is simply a channel for this universal energy.

During the treatment, you lie fully clothed and allow yourself to be as relaxed as possible, while universal energy is guided to where it is most needed in your energetic system via a series of hand positions gently resting on or just above the body. Before the treatment, I will ask you to complete a short health questionnaire. And after, we will have 15 minutes to talk, in total, the treatment lasts for 75 minutes.

shiatsu

Shiatsu is a Japanese bodywork practice that supports relaxation and balance through gentle pressure, stretches, and holding techniques. It is based on principles of traditional East Asian medicine and works with the body’s natural rhythms and energy.

Sessions take place on a comfortable mat on the floor, and are fully clothed. Using hands, thumbs, and gentle body weight, pressure is always adapted to your comfort level. Shiatsu does not involve oils or massage lotions, and movements are slow and attentive, allowing space for rest, awareness, and ease.

These 40-minute sessions are offered for freeas part of my shiatsu training and focus on relaxation, grounding, and supporting the body’s natural balance.

Please note: this is a student practice session and not a full therapeutic treatment.
